NathanD Hi guys, At some point I would like to upgrade the standard exhaust manifold on the wife's car. As some of you will know I've fitted a custom 2" stainless cat back system, including 200 cell cat. Manifolds aren't cheap, and I really don't like the look of the John Ashley one, so have done a bit of searching, Would this fit, is the 2.2 ecotec in the Chevy cavalier a z22se? I believe this is the same item as the chap with the supercharged vectra estate (sorry can't remember his name) http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2005-HIGH-FLOW-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-HEADER-ECOTEC-2-2L-02-03-04-05-NEW-SET-/351000999849?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AChevrolet%7CModel%3ACavalier&hash=item51b94a37a9&vxp=mtr Any advice is welcome!
evocarlos top half will but the lower part would need to be remade to suit the down and under pipe like on the astra / vectra looks like the same one @[deleted] has ? https://z22se.co.uk/threads/weapon-r-fitted.20272/

NathanD Interesting replies, thanks guys! I visit the US quite regularly, this however may be a little large to fit in my suitcase... Either way, for £50 plus shipping and customs, it's a very cheap price, even if we have to cut it around a bit?!
Haukkeli i would say that the manifold itself will fit, but downpipe doesn't. Litllebit cutting and welding, and i think it will be good!
vocky they are just weapon R copies, so the 4-2 section fits with some modification to the aircon pipework, but the 2-1 section will need complete refabrication. I had one of these on my vectra ten years ago (y)

After speaking with a friend of mine, he agreed that the best manifold is a 4-2-1 but explained that ideally the primaries need to come down as far as the sump, this way the length or the primaries will help with torque... May have to go custom if this is the case...
NathanD Well done mate, very impressive. I feel you need long primaries to get the best out of an engine, n/a that is!
vocky the exact length for my engine should have been 490mm, but because of the rear subframe I had to make them 500mm. Exhausts are nearly always a compromise
vocky the Mad Doc made a similar manifold for his combo van, except it was 4-1, looked damn good (y) He never got around to fitting the z22se engine as far as I know, then he just vanished from the sites
