Speakers stop working after kerbing

I have a cdr500 in my vectra,a few weeks ago I hit a central island in pouring rain about 25-30 mph,as soon as it happened the n/s/f speaker stoped working.
The funny thing is is that after a week it started working again but only on the radio,if I try the cd then it stops working again.
Could the cd part of the stereo have got damaged in the impact(it was enough to badly bend the lower susp arm).
Any ideas?

It's strange that it's only working on the radio?? Have you taken the stereo out and had a look on the back of it to make sure it's not knocked anything out and caused a loose connection?

Not yet,i just made sure the front panel was in place properly & that the stereo was in properly.
If there was a loose connection the it should not work all the time or work intermittently on both.

True, that's what I would expect as well. Can't say I've seen a fault like that before. Would it be possible to swap the unit out?

I'll have to have a look on ebay for one as I dont really have a local scrappy anymore.
I will take it out & have a quick look 1st though,thanks for the help.
