ok so today i poped up to see amy @[deleted] with her vectra c
amy sent me a pm to say could i come and have a look
she had taken the car to a garage where we are not sure what happened
but upon my arrivle it was clear there was valve damage
not 1 or 2 but 8 all 8 inlet valves were double bent and had cracked all the valve guides
here it is when i started
front rail is gone and the chain was super slack it had warn thru the oil jet so there was quite some deflection
2 and a bit hours later the head came off
each cylinder had bits of broken valve guide
once the head was removed the damage was obvious
there is a lack of pictures here i forgot to take them lol
i took 4 inlet valves and 6 valve guides with me and started to repair the head
but due to not knowing the extent of the damage when going it was hard to decide what parts were needed
and at 2pm on a sat afternoon parts from the shops are hard to come by
all local car parts had no stock so called up my local car parts and managed to get me dad to pop and get a set of head bolts
the pistons were cleaned and all look in good condition
will be popping back tomorrow with
headgasket
headbolts
4 inlet valves and 2 valve guides
then remove the sump clean it out fit the new chains and see if we cant get the beast running again 🙂
