Ok, took the Signum for its MoT yesterday, failed on a couple of broken springs, one front one rear, front arb drop links, a couple of rear tyres and a few minor things that' took me minutes to sort.
As the car is running halogens it has the headlight pop out washers and these were not working, and the washer jets to the screen had insufficient water coming out. So things I've done so far to correct this are as follows:
Checked all related fuses-no change.
Topped up washer fluid- no
noise from pump, no change.
Took washer pump out, gave it a blow and a tap, re-installed it, gave it a go, got water out of the windscreen jets for a second then stopped. Still nothing on the headlight front.
Took washer pump out again, took it apart, quite a bit of crap in it so cleaned it up and gave the spindle a spray of WD40, put it back together and gave it a whirl-nothing on the screen jets but out popped the headlight washers and hey presto, water.
So surely this means the pump is working so why am I getting nothing to the screen or rear window?????
It's doing my nut in now so any advice would be much appreciated, cheers.
