Turn off alarm?

Both keys fail to work central locking/ alarm after idiot features changes the batteries, lights on fobs no longer work. For the benefit of good relations with my neighbours is it possible to dis-arm the alarm temporaily? Thanks Rob:unsure:

place key in the ignition
tune to ignition on
press the lock button on the fob
door buttons will lock then unlock to synchronise the fob

oh wait you said the lights no longer work the battery holder in the fobs must be broken

the only way i can think is to disconnect the battery with the ignition on then unplug the alarm siren that will stop it for a while
