Im having a few issues with a speedo
Now i know the normal issue is in the hub (have replace a few and it normally fixes the issue)
In this particular car i replaced the HUB but still had no speedo registering.
Im totally new to electronics so please bear with me with this.
I have just purchased my first multimeter and im just learning to use it.
Here is what i have tried
I jacked the car up and disconnected the speed sensor (plug near the rotors) i then used my multi meter to check if hub was giving a signal (resistance mode) and all seems ok as it speeds up i get a greater signal.
I the checked the lead coming out of the car to the hub for voltage and was getting 0. Initially i thought it must be a broken wire in the lead from body to the hub plug so i checked this and it was ok.
I have now checked the wires coming through the body (under wheel arch) of the car and have come to the conclusion that it is not earthing.
If i use my multimeter and check for voltage i get 0 but if i put the multimeter earth lead on a good earth i get a good signal.
Any idea on how to fix this?
Where does this wire go to once it goes through the wheel arch into the car body?
