On a stock Projector for a vec c you can either fit a cancelor (pre facelift) or activate Xenon's via Opcom or tech2. AFL are super rare mate and a wiring is a right pain in the rear, as such not many of know what to do with them. I'll link you to a new forum, VX-Enthusiasts. There's a guy on there (Mark-R) that has just retro fitted a set, he should be able to give you the full rundown on what the score is. There may be a setting to turn off the AFL so the car thinks it has the stock set up so the basic projector will run.
