MikeS over charging alternator, take a few weeks to destroy a new battery faulty ecu or not the car should turn over regardless
Tigercat The alternator is charging correctly . The point is that something is draining the battery . I now suspect that the ecu makes a connection that drains the battery . The car runs great , its just starting it !
MikeS oki drop the engine management relay / ecu relay rather than unplugging battery, then you have no power to fuel pump / ecu black box in engine bay with 2x purple coloured relays then get your multimeter out and check the drain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF1gijj03_0
Tigercat Ok so which relay is which ? Is it possible that one of these is sticking on , and when the battery is disconnected for so long ( about 10 hours ) it unsticks/resets itself when the power is reconnected ? Thanks
MikeS well you were the hear fuel pump prime with ignition on, pulling one of them will stop the pump from priming
Tigercat Ok thanks . Car is having MOT done now but will check when I get it back soon . So just to make it clear one purple relay is fuel pump and the other is engine management ?
