Hi guys. I think ive just set a new record! My YH engine is only 18k old (out of a Vauxhall main dealer, i might add) and its rattling like hell! Ive whipped the cover off and found that the balance shaft chain tensioner is kaput, not even pushing gently on the guide rail. Can they really be that crap out of the factory? Apparently so!
Anyway, my question is thus: is there a better tensioner you can buy for the balance shaft side of things? We all know about 12608580 Z20 timing chain tensioner upgrade, but is there anything out there for the other one?
