milo So on the weekend going to try and polish up the rocker cover. Going to start off using WD40 to remove as much crap as possible. Then to get a nice shine am I best off using this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meguiars-All-Metal-Polish-Car-Motorbike-Alloy-Chrome-Wheels-COMPLETE-KIT-/150895610981?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item2322144c65 or is they something better I should use?
Sjdickso WD40 would work but I would go for machine degreaser and if by hand auto sol a d the nxt but it could take a while to polish up depending on your desired finish?

After a nice shine.......but nothing like a chrome finish. So prob best skip wd40 and use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Engine-Degreaser-Car-Van-Lorry-Boat-Cleaner-Gunk-Oil-Aerosol-Spray-Valeting00440-/151143700240?pt=UK_Vehicle_Oils_Lubricants_Fluids&hash=item2330ddd710 then followed by http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTOSOL-CHROME-METAL-CLEANER-POLISH-100g-THE-ORIGINAL-BEST-/350865698298?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item51b139adfa Best to use rags with the degreaser?
Sjdickso That would do the trick, yes rags old terry towels do the trick or MF clothes if you have some old ones 🙂
Matt This also does a good job and giving a nice shine. Used it on my exhaust for a few years now http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_167641_langId_-1_categoryId_165527
evocarlos im with matt i have always used megs nxt metal love the stuff TFR and med wire wool best trick with the rocker cover is throw the alloy one away and get the plastic one its a wipe clean with wd40 🙂
evocarlos Sjdickso said: NXT is great but i find Autosol has more bite, normally do Autosol then a coat of NXT 🙂 have a tube of autosol somewhere its good but i always found it to require that extra bit of elbow grease to get it good
evocarlos traffic film remover its a strong cleaning chemical its good on alloys and for getting the flys off the front of the car but i found when mixed 30/70 with water it makes a good cleaner for many things 🙂
