hi everyone, i havent been on here for a few years, used to have a 2.2 astra G coupe, which i had for 4 years, then i have had the blue one which is in my profile pic, was a 1.8 se2 model, with full irmscher kit, and then i bought another 2.2 astra G coupe.
i am now wanting to buy another astra G, but this time the convertable, which would you say is best to go for, the 2.2 or 1.8?? i found the 2.2 ones i had much more economical on longer runs, but the 1.8 was better on fuel around town. i do like the 2 litre turbo version, but abit worried about the cost implications of the turbo goes wrong, and also what reliability is like on the turbo version.
only thing that concerns me about the 2.2 ones is the timing chain, hard to find a decent 2.2 now days thats been looked after.
i am looking to spend about £2500 so hopefully will find one with decent mileage.
can you recommend anyone that cain install a new timing chain, someone that alot of people on here have used, and also someone that is in south london area.
