not long spoke with jon ,took the belt off a measured from the 2nd raised inner peak on the s/c pulley to the machined edge of the s/c nose and it should be 170.5 mm but mine is 168mm ,so its 2.5 mm out no wonder its chewing the belt .
anyway jon is gonna get back to me monday morning and go through what we need to do ,but he said it will probably be best to take the pulley off ,make a 2.5 mm shim up to put inside the pulley then put it back on so it gets the right belt run

i tried to show the lighting on it ,as its white leds the same as my dash lights .can also switch the colour to blue by the flick of a switch on the rear of it

seeing as i cant drive it just yet due to the belt issue,ive now come across another problem which is the water pump for the chargecooler is not working so that will set me back a couple of weeks before i can get a new one .
anyway i thought i'd change the gearbox mount for the new polybushed uprated mount ,took about 45 mins to change as i couldnt quite see which way it went round lol
this will take a lot of the whip out of the engine ,should also be better and quicker off the mark

finally got round to sorting the boost gauge holder
heres how its been since i put it in

originally i wanted to cut a hole in the actual vent itself but found it very awkward trying to get the slats straight etc ,so i went to the same place where i got the battery tray and c/c outlets done and had them make me up a piece of alloy with a hole so it would fit in place of the vent
then i wanted it to match in with the dash ,as luck would have it i had a spare airbag cover from the passenger side ,so i cut some of the black of it and stuck it to the alloy

had to do a bit of trimming with the dremel as it slants at the top ,fits a treat now

and all fitted in ,also put some new silicone vacumn pipe in as well ,cause the pipe that came with it was crap.

well ive finally got around to doing my suspension change ,i bought myself all new shocks and springs last year ,new top mount kits and new drop links .
so now i have bilstein b4 shocks and kws lowering springs 40mm all round

all in it took about 4.5 -5 hrs with lots of coffee breaks and swearing especially one droplink which was a b****** to get off.
next weekend i'll have the wheels off again and clean the arches up
heres a few pics ,sits high compared to how it was but should settle a bit in a few weeks .the ride is a lot smoother now

the day finally come where i head over to courtenays for the final re map and set up ,left mine at 7.15 to get there for 9.00.
car went on the rollers at about 9.30 where it was until 1.30 ,in that time it had 3 or 4 runs ,also it needed the part throttle reflashing as it was still running rich .
any way i was hoping for 210 bhp
results came in at 213.32 bhp and 192.17 ft-lbs ,so im well happy, considering as they said it wasnt a very healthy engine ,which i already knew .as you can see by all the smoke lol

bit of a late update but after fitting the new shocks and springs the other month only to find out the front springs were v6 ones, i got in touch with courtenays who i bought them from ,who then got in touch with kw in germany where they came from
and kw sent a pair of replacement fronts out ,so fitted them the other week and they sit how should on a 40mm drop

well as of yesterday its had a change of front bumper and upper grille as the gsi bumper and grill have gone to the paintshop today ,will have them back at the weekend

its also been 6 months since i had the car mopped and the ceramishield sealant applied,took a few pics of the beading .
since having it done its just been washed ,no polish or wax has been on the car

took these over to a mate at dv8 auto customs at kings lynn,last week to be painted as the bumper was in a sorry state
as seen here big chunk of paint missing and stone chips all over along with stress cracks

i picked them up earlier and the finish is absolutely perfect ,well pleased with them .now im in 2 minds weather to put them on now or wait a bit nearer billing ,as there is one road where i go to work which has all sorts off wildlife throwing themselves in front of me .only this morning 2 pigeons had a close look at my screen
so far ive had 1 hare,1 duck and now 4 pigeons

got the new flexi welded in today
new one on the left ,the one on the right is the one i had replaced at the end of april
will be interesting to see how long they last

well it went for the mot today and it failed
nearside bottom ball joint
exhaust hanger not secured to bodywork
rear fog light

had advisories on most of the brake pipes ,and the airbag light which is the squib
so will sort brake pipes over next few months ,air bag squib at weekend
also he got funny about the pressed plates but didnt mention them on the fail sheet so changed them to keep them sweet ,will change back to others when i have the ticket lol

tapped the rear light and the fog worked ,but checked it and one of the pins had worn down so replaced it
my mate is sorting the ball joint and exhaust tomorrow

update time ,had a ride over to north walsham sunday where i met up with mikie and bought another set of mv6 rims of him as they were a bargain price ,too good to turn down at £50 .these are in better condition than my ones ,and mike had done all the hard work getting them down to bare alloy ,so i just gave them a wire wool down and gave them a polish ,1 of them is sprayed in anthracite so i will get a decent set of 4 with one of my ones

car took off road beginning of January 2013
update time due to the chain deciding to rattle ive took it of the road for the time being ,its currently sorned till feb
also with the engine not being the best as it drinks oil , a litre every 300 miles
ive got myself a replacement engine with 50k miles ,one of the cams seized on it so i'll be stripping it down with help from micheal derry .
will be putting new big end shells and piston rings ,new valves etc and both chains ,then i will put my head on it with new head gasket set
also i'll be putting the rear engine mount and side mount of the 50k vec on mine .so it should run sweet and i'll have a bit more power too
