pottsey well after being on here for over 5 yrs now ,thought its about time I done one of these lol,i do have a project thread over on vvoc so i'll be copying and pasting all the info and pics onto here
pottsey 2001 vectra 2.2 sri 150 i bought it back in april 2008 with 84k miles on the clock for £2100 right here goes this is when i first got it so now the modding starts, i found a set of gsi alloys on e bay painted in white but had reacted badly, only 3 tyres ,anyway i messaged the seller and arranged to meet,so i bought them for £220. my first road trip to kent to pick them up so i got them refurbed and had a new tyre put on at the cost of £240 my next mod was the gsi bumper which i bought for £200,needed a bit of a repair as it had a couple of splits in it . sent it of to the bodyshop to get it sorted ,another £170 lighter in my pocket pics at my first meet ,where i also met up with planty and he fitted me one of his total closure unit next up i bought a remus centre pipe for £40 ,another road trip to bedford. only had that about a month when i decided it was too quiet:lips: found this site and registered and wandered into the classifieds where I saw this,a remus centre pipe with a twin exit cobra backboxes with vxr style tailpipes,so struck up a deal with ecky1972 arranged to meet him at newark and handed him £150 for this
pottsey so i took it took my local bush tyres where they got rid of that horrible towbar, and set about putting the exhaust ,but whilst doing so they noticed the cat and flexi was knackered so that was replaced as well ,another bill off £150 all fitted im now terrorising the neighbours lol next mod was a wheel change again ,bought these for £130 ,kahn rsr 18",another road trip to near p/boro right next mod ,a set of angel eyes for £120 then i purchased a set of 6000k hid's for £40 ,another road trip to st neots so now im noticing a rattle coming from the engine ,having read reports on here of noisy chains ,i got in touch with benny to get him to fit a new chain kit ,so off i trundle over to dudley 2 hrs 45 mins of nerve racking driving praying to god that the chain didnt snap . anyway after spending 2.5 hrs in bennys hands the car was running a sweet as a nut ,no more rattle
pottsey next on the list was to tidy the alloys up a bit more ,so got a set of centre caps for £20 also got some caliper decals from crazyleds £4 then onto the grill got an irmy grill £60,also got a set of flat blade wipers to smarten the windscreen up lol after doing all these mods i decided that the paint work was looking a bit tired so had a word with steve(p200msd) and got him to give the car a good going over,i actually gave him the remus for doing this ,think I got the better end of the deal [/
pottsey next up i sourced an electric rear window set up from e bay £55 ,took a while to do lol 2hrs one side then 45 mins the other onto the ride height now ,seeing as it looking like a 4x4 i got some hottuning springs from e bay £66 a trip over to see michael to get them fitted lowered 60mm front 40mm rear moving onto the engine bay i bought an enlarged inlet pipe and rocker cover breather hose in silver from earl of barnet on vvoc £90 also fitted the rad cover £30 cold air feed fitted
pottsey onto the interior ,got myself a irmscher gear knob £30. irmscher gear surround and coin tray fitted a shark fin aerial colour coded as well ,but the reception was crap so this didnt stop on too long smoked side repeaters also fitted fiat bravo rear wiper fitted as well got myself a st carbon steering wheel for £70,laquer was peeling so an ideal project to refurb ,so set about peeling laquer off with a Stanley blade ,very tedious but got there in the end.gave it a good rub down and primed with some high build primer and then resprayed in merecedes atlas grey, this was the nearest match to the titanium already on the dash etc and fitted
pottsey after earl of barnet on vvoc put a post up asking for a standard inlet pipe to use as a pattern for silicone one ,i jumped at the chance considering i would get one for free😉 here it is fitted cruise control was then fitted managed to get a stalk for £12 ,was a bit of a pain fitting the switch need to be a bloody contortionist lol then i bought a omega auto dimming mirror ,quite easy to do really earthed on the screw under the light and a live feed from the ignition another nice easy mod ,cdx door seals £12 alloy steering wheel adjuster £7 irmscher tax disc holder £12 then up came a hoffman 200 cell sports cat for sale , £120
pottsey next up i turned my attention to the rear ,I made an offer on this and got it for £40 the next morning I was on another road trip to kent, needed a bit of repair and another exit cutting out bit of a dummy run to see how it fitted as you can see the exhausts were quite close ,soon got sorted by getting some ford granada rubbers all sprayed in high build primer
pottsey once it was ready for painting i took it to my mate across the road from me with the paint and laquer i bought ,and he sprayed it for me ,costing me £60 and then fitted to the car just in time for billing 2010
pottsey next up the silver roof rails although these were actually fitted before the bumper ,lost track of what i did and when these were also bought from the same person who I got the rear bumper from, cost £40 bit of an arse to fit having to drop the roof lining down etc etc next up a set of cdx leather door cards £45 well after sending myself deaf with the exhaust it was time for change ,came across a magnex centre pipe on e bay for £50 ,picked it from great yarmouth managed to get a magnex twin slash backbox for £30
pottsey next up i got hold of an apex spring and shock set up for £60,so the shocks have now replaced the standard shocks ,sold the apex springs as they were a v6 set up ,so im using my hottuning on the apex shocks spent the day round tyes changing them over with a lot of swearing involved next up time for an alloy change when these came i just had to have them just a few pics of the alloy refurb ,bought these for £90 . wasnt sure how i was gonna finish them ,it was either 1 rub the corroded bits down and laquer it up 2 rub the diamond cut bits down and spray and silver/chrome finish 3 rub down to bare alloy on the diamond cut bits and polish up with autosol ive ended up doing number 3 ,so far its cost me £7 in sandpaper just a rough idea of how they look before and after here they are fitted to the car im well pleased with them, there not 100% as it was just a cheap refurb £7 for the sandpaper lol, considering how they looked a couple were quite heavily kerbed and there was a fair bit of corrosion on them . haven't done any real close ups as they arent that great:notme:,anyway there on now and at least any flaws i can do them on the car

pottsey few pics from hull motor show 2011 won best estate as well if you look on the last pic the person behind me with the benny hat on is steve aka @[deleted] his car is also in the first pic besides mine
pottsey well back in October 2011 I took voluntary redundancy which helped me fund this lot had a nice parcel arrive on parcel number 1 of 2 was well chuffed it rurned up ,wasnt expecting it so soon ,all the way from orlando usa anyway i soon ripped the box open the ingredients for a supercharger so i have the inlet manifold ,inlet manifold to head gasket, inlet manifold to supercharger gasket, water pump, and the inlet manifold supporting bracket. if i was to buy these from courtenays inlet manifold-£645.00 water pump-£122.15 inlet manifold supporting bracket-£42.95 inlet manifold to supercharger gasket-£34.65 inlet manifold to head gasket £2.35 the supercharger is currently sat in customs still supercharger-£1495 ive paid with shipping for the above just over £800 ,so a considerable amount of saving still need to get quite a bit from the uk ,but the bulk has been done hoping to have it all fitted sometime in the new year so will be updating when i get bits etc
pottsey the following week the next package arrived, had to pay custome charges on this one of £74 ,got away without paying on the other box ,so that saved me a little bit the final ingredients for the supercharger set up [/
pottsey bit slow on the update ,got these last week z20let injector plugs/boots/pins also placed an order at courtenays today for most of the other bits ,should have them next saturday
pottsey update time ordered a load of bits from courtenays but there is delay of 4 weeks on the idle pulley ,2-3 weeks on the map sensor but the smaller sports battery i ordered on monday night turned up today
