just found some pic of my old renault 19 16v from back in 2000
had it 6 week then did the head gasket

then it spun a bearing on the crank from low oil and 140mph had it fixed locally but was not right
so i stripped the block pull out the melted piston rings honed to bores and painted the block fitted a new clutch

changed all the core plugs and draining the hydraulic lifters in the head and ground all the valves in

i did smash the diff in the gearbox to that got fixed it was a circlip
then later 2002 got lucky and broke the circlip that cause the gear box to break the 1st time

iv just found my old astra photos This was a standard 1.4 LS when i bought it

I fitted the sxi wheels and Sxi seats n sport badges, painted the centre console, door trims and door handles and fitted the white bits around the controls and changed the clocks to white(which look shit). sold it in 2010 just before i bought the vectra(y)(y)

this is my 1st vauxhall that got me into the vaux scene. bought it as a standard looking 1.6 ls but had a cheeky redtop thrown in from a cav. few weeks of ownership my then gf borrowed it and stuffed it up a kerb damaging the wishbone,wheel and wing. decided to take it off road for a couple of month and replaced the damaged parts plus upgrade parts at the same time. body had a full respray with laguna splitter and tinted headlight and fogs. wheels were tsw of some kind and were a tw*t to keep clean lol. put a cav v6 in it in oct 2010 and ran a healthy 190 on r.s tunning,s dyno. not bad for standard lump with just a exhaust and filter 🙂. striped it for parts late 11 early 12 when i found out i was been a dad again. i dfo miss this at times.

i do like a mk3 but for me it would have to be a red gsi, But i dont like red cars(weired i know)(y)

I got a few oldie pictures I have managed to keep, Ill find them and post them up.

@[deleted] I had 3 R19 16v Hatches.. Not exec though, didn't like the leather, All were the blue/purple metallic paint with the 3 spoke steering wheel, I put a Prima Racing exhaust and a super chip of some type on one, went like the dogs dangles.

My old Vauxhall Cavalier GSI 2000 - Gmax 60mm Springs/Shocks, powerflow exhaust, superchiped, K&N, Sparco Steering wheel & a porous head :-( Loved it though!

My old Fiesta XR2i 8v, best pic I can find.

Can't find any more :-(

i do still like the r19 16 its look and drive all be it a bit squirmy on the rear with yokes on it was pretty quick and would give the standard 2.2 a run for its money what with it only being a 1.8 🙂

no not now lol i would only blow it up like i did with mine not sure i could deal with fixing the cir clip and diff every 6 months again
if it was £200 then it would be worth it with full tax and test
i sold mine for £800 13 years ago lol
