quite easy, the earlier B207 engines had a four balance weight crank and obviously a GEN 1 block, the later B207 have an eight balance weight crank and a GEN 2 block.

I have an early B207 block which came with a four weight crank, circa 2007

If you look hard enough you can see the engine number is a B207

the actual contents of a lifter

the bat cave saw an engine build this weekend its a wedged 2.0l thats compound charged 🙂
had to replace the dowels they got machined off :S

but the new bench got some weight on as the engine came from a mate who had a few heads laying about 🙂

AEM engine position module on its way :confused: 24x crank and 1x cam in one box just need to adpot it to fit the inlet cam

i have a good friend in america who is going to help with mounting hardware 🙂

been playing in the batcave with a head @[deleted] gave me its was pretty muffed :S
very dirty

16 bent valves

stuck it in the wash bosh for 4days then jet washed it its came out much better

now to fix the 14 cracked valve guides :S

so the epm came and ive spent the last day or so building the contraption to make it work

saab power steering pump cut down alot!

back side was flat sanded as i don't have a milling machine

mounting the epm to a spacer plate

was not happy with the imperial bolts on the epm so stripped the unit to change them only to find one bolt on the pcb broken from the factory no screw head in sight and the main case screws were glued in

fixed it with an old pc case screw

changed the 8/32 studs to m5 threads then cut the bolts to length

made sure they would clear the pcb when bolted in

like so 🙂

taped the outer case for m4 bolts and then fitted new ones

cut the shaft and put the notch in for the drive on the epm then shaped the spacer to the same shape as the ps plate then made sure it was running as true as i could
added 2 m4 countersunk bolts to hold the two plate together

and thats the unit complete just need to add the wires to the ecu loom for the cam and crank signal and power and ground

this will give me the option to run full sequential and wasted spark once i change the firmware from semi sequential (crank only)

Here's a head after 5 days in the degrease and a jet wash

Came up real clean

I had to strip out the bits and lube them so they didn't go rusty

Does the sequential ignition make much of a difference ? How did you get on with the AEM abs unit does it work well with the vauxhall can connection and can you configure it to disable traction control abs ect ?

sequential fuel injection half load at compression stroke and the other half at intake stroke giving the same power with less fuel consumption
it was running without a cam sensor so need the epm to get the cam sensor for other things not just fully sequential

im still running the bosch abs pump the abs is stand alone and has no need for input to function t/c is part of the z22se ecu the abs ecu send signals to the ecu to show front wheel speed greater than then rear wheel speed then sends a torque reduce request causing the ecu to shut the throttle flap and or cut the fuel
the aem has its own t/c so you just need to give it a front and rear wheel speed input and it can be configured to how you want it ,gear,slip target,fuel cut,ignition cut,throttle % cut,timing retard,

in other news clutch has had it

and the head gasket

What caused the head gasket to go? And take it clutch wasn't upto the increased power

lack of cooling from a single fan and having the temp probe in the wrong location so it was not giving the right reading its like its melted the coating on the gasket and then i got water in the oil :S

yeah the clutch did well for what it was its been funky for a while some days hard some days normal so guess it been going slowly

ive now got a list of jobs as long as my arm and then a parts list the same lol

New 500hp capable clutch is in the post and got a load of gaskets to pick up today new block should be ready for early next week will do a proper update with pics later on 🙂

Had the twin plate when the f23 was in but then went back to a single plate with the m32

Not sure on the name but its not local to me

The old block now stripped the evans Coolant has washed the inside

All shells look normal

Crank looks good to

A bunch of new gaskets

And the new clutch
