apparently im in the performance vauxhall mag again 😛
been real busy and with my main pc dropping the backup hdd im working from the laptop so its a bit of a daunting task to upload pics :S
the update (lots of pics)
spal fan brackets

fitted and cut to suit

fan resistor fitted

getting closer

top tip for @[deleted] no more messing up hydraulic lifters in the vice 🙂

new GM gasket is the same as the EL-ring part

rich 🙂

i was going to lap all the valves in but after doing a leak test on all 8 ports with paint thinners there was no need

some doogie howser tried to correct me on fb some time ago with wrong info from the forum
all i can say is the info from there the guy needs to get his calipers fixed the net gasket is not 0.98mm 🙂
3 pics 1=z20net- 0.5mm 2=cometic oversize -0.7mm 3=z22yh 0.4mm

net head bolt sequence vs z22yh

also while playing i made a tool to removed the liners from the block

all out 🙂

to hopes to get the block fixed with darton liners is null and void the crack penetrates to far down the block

started to make my self a tool for removal/fitting of the liners 🙂

bought myself a bore gauge to check the block in the car

86mm on all at 90* and the the same halfway down and at the bottom is even with 80k miles its still good but dont explain my low compression on #1

even the ring gap was in spec

put it all back together and fitted z22se sprockets to the stage 3 comp cams

purging the water loop

time to make the bonnet shut fit again 🙂

i used another shut to shape the steel i was using

welded in

and ground flat

next up painting

rust treatment applied

while i waiting for paint to dry i made the pipe work for the brake booster vec b-vec c z20net to astra g lol
it gives me the same setup as the z20net where the charger is using engine vac and then the vac pump if the vac pump ever fails then the charger will still do the job

stripped the shut back to metal then used etch primer

that will do me 🙂
