scratches

Ok due to some fecker keying my car whilst i was on hols i need to get the scratch sorted. What i want to konw is, is it possible to have just the scratch taken care of or do i need to get the whole panels painted??

Both doors on drivers side are scratched aswell as the rear wing :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

do u have any pics of the scratches andy if there not to deep the could be buffed out if not then maybe need re sprayed

not got any yet but i will get some up.

think they a bit too deep to be buffed out but i could be wrong.

there is a paste you can get that goes in the scratch you let it harden then buff it up with polish etc dont know if you can still get it though or what it was called

ok cheers for that, will have a look in halfords tomorrow.

gonna get in touch with a few bodyshops aswell see what they say.

i was told to use cutting compound but don't fancy that as i'd probably end up back to bare metal.

What a pain in the ass!! I would imagine it'll be a repainted panel Andy.

I'd be very suprised if you can hide a key scratch by any other means.

I got the number od one of these mobile guys if u want it andy,he used to work in the bodyshop where i get my stuff done,had some good reports of his work too..

He's based in chepstow so u might have to make atrip down as if he came to u it wud prob work out alot dearer..will get number from work 2moz for ya m8..

Yep, key scratches are a bitch to try blending in, so for any reasonable finish, you'd be better having the who panel sprayed.

well i got 2 very small rust spots on the bottom of one door so will be able to get them done aswell if the panels need respraying.

well i forgot all about the pics so here is a couple

anyway been to a bodyshop to get a price on repair and was a little suprised.

the guy wants £200 to do it all. thats sort out 3 small rust spots paint the 2 doors and the rear quarter.

seems a good price to me, what you reckon??

just hope he does a good job lol, nah he has done other paint work for me and i've been happy with that so should be fine.

only problem is he is really busy at the moment so i have to wait a couple of weeks, so i gotta look at my beloved veccy in a sorry state for a little while longer lol.

In Finland the police catched the person who had been sabotaging tuned/american cars for ages. He was dumb enough to admit it to the police and someone leaked his name to the public. He had scratched over 5000 cars during the last 10 years in our capital and surrounding areas. He got beaten up three times in row after the name leaked out, hopefully he learned his lesson :lol:

Hopefully more of those scratchers get caught 🙂 🙂

Andy hope you got it sorted.
That was a good price for all that.

I think that the scratch could have been wet sanded and buffed out either that or carefully filled in and then buffed.
