Had an mot today. Failed me on tyre which I disagree with as there . Was 3mm 3mm 2mm and 1mm on the treads. Dirt on the brake pipes which he saidcwas rust and my side repeaters were not orange theyre yellowish. He spent half hour checking my front bearings cos they were new. When arguing with him he said no car passes an mot first time. He was recommended but I wont recommend him. Ill take it back tmrw after ckeaning the pipes and change tyre but I bet he will look for more problems. I had a brand new exhaust fitted and he said its blowing. "All cars exhausts blow" really!!!. 10 year ago I woukd of kicked off badly. Im fuming

1mm of tread is illegal, should be min 1.6mm and I would be looking at changing before it got that low anyway

1.6mm on 3/4 of the tyre mine was 2.5mm for 3/4 of the tyre

I also took your original post has saying 1 tyre has 1mm of tread.

sounds like the tester was having a bad day
but i to read 1mm on one tire and it is 1.6 for 3/4 of the tire minimum
10 year old car with steel brake lines are gonna be rusty im glad i bought a kit and the fittings and pipe to make my own up in the event of ether moms of dads car failing on the pipes
exhaust has to be sealed any blow with give a bad reading on the emissions test as i once found out

in my case what the car wants the car gets 🙂

Sorry guys they were the depth of tread on one tyre. Emissions test was perfect. I was worried because of egr delete. The brake lines had been changed by last owner they were just covered in mud. I went under to remove dirt but he wouldn't budge. Taking it back tmrw hopefully be different guy.

Ive I've spent hundreds (600) in last 4 months on the car getting it ready for mot.

ive lost count how many times ive spent that much in the last 12 months 🙂 it was this time last year the work started on my car

When money is short it gets annoying when I know shes in great condition but some fat twat fails it.

yeah its always the way
i been taking mine moms and dads car to the same place for 7 years there good and they let me have a gander at the under side to check up on things 🙂
think they will have a shock when it goes in for its next one what with no cat and a supercharger fitted

na its just the same i will need to fit a cat tho 🙂
at 3k rpm the bypass valve makes it run as it was before

Im realky thinking of saving for one. Or sell up and go for a coupe turbo. I like the coups

2 new tyres cleaned brake lines and she passed mot. Emmissions were spot on but eml has come on now. Ican hear air suction somewhere but cant find it.
