Hi. I need to change the engine in my vectra c sri z22se. can someone tell me if it will come out from the top and also give me any tips. thanks.

whip the crank pulley off, then you should have just enough room to lift it out the top

Thanks but the engine is ready to go in. anyway without resetting the chain ?

srry. New to this engine. Will the timing have to be reset and if so is there away to get it out without removing the pully. thank you.

no need to touch the cam timing on an engine install, just undo the 21mm bolt on the crank pulley and remove it. When you refit it please remember it is a two stage alignment, first is the oil pump (side slots) and the second the crank keyway. Do not force the crank pulley on, it should slide all the way in and leave a tiny gap between the crank pulley and oil pump housing.

HI sorry. Just browsing the site. While i'm changing the engine is it worth removing the cat and doing the air box mod. any benefits ? thanks in advance.

its it not a manicat on the vec c ? you would need to fit a z22se astra manifold and have a pipe made then extend the wires on the lambdas and have a downpipe made to fit with a lambda elbow on the 2nd sensor :S
