So after being sat about since last October another Saab engine is finally getting tweaked 🙂

Progress will be slow as the cams and springs have not arrived, but basically it's going to be a 2.0 SC with opened up exhaust ports, water pump delete for the CraigDavies electric pump set up, CompCams and dbilas valve springs.

I have whipped the head off ready to have a play with the exhaust ports, the usual open them up to the gasket size - you can see the scribed line where the ports will end up, I will also do the throat area.

been busy creating the external trigger wheel stuff and modifying the engine for an electric coolant pump - removed mechanical impellor and fitted a two stepped alloy bung, removed thermostat and swivelled hose connector to suit electric pump and fitted alloy bungs to the heater take offs.
The heater will still be used, however the hoses will need to be connected before the electric coolant pump.

so the LSJ stage 2 compcams and dbilas valve springs arrived today, so I slipped them into the engine 🙂

I have a 2.4 vvt engine getting some tweaks as well, vvt head weighs a ton :eek:

ps: yes it's the ebay 2.4 Antara engine which sat on there for months and months

so finished porting the exhaust side and rebuilt the 2.2 saab head with Dbilas valve springs

Saab 2.2 and Vauxhall 2.4 blocks

2.2 has a TTV flywheel and Courtenay 'competition clutch'

head bolted onto the Saab 2.2 and chain fitted, but not timed up yet

cams 'vernier'd in' or 'timed up' if you prefer

LSJ cam cover breather added for OEM look

Yes. It is the sump of my saab engine.
I am looking for a good place installing my oil temperatur. But if there already is one fitted - i will take it
