afternoon from sunny Australia, recently i purchased a ts convertible astra with the z22se that I thought had a snapped chain or failed tensioner/rails.
turned out it had slipped some teeth on the timing due to lack of oil pressure luckily it did not bend any valves even though I thought it was this and pulled the head off.
I put it back together with a new gaskets, timing chain and tensioner it runs smooth on idle for about 40 seconds and then the OIL LIGHT comes on and it starves the tensioner and lifters and everything start rattling. p.s tensioner is activated
I have tried searching low oil pressure on here but can not find anyone having simular issues.
I did a oil flush and put a new filter in with liquid moly 10/40 oil but still does it.
im thinking ill pull the sum of and inspect the pickup for blockages and maybe rebuild the oil pump, think im heading in the right direction or am I missing something.
also has a major rear main oil leak haha
