have fitted a cheater/ blanking plate to cure cutting out, been on for about week now and has started to do it again is there any thing else that will cause this problem that anyone has come across

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the ecu and clear any codes

do they just come up or do you have to look some where on the screen.
none shown.have since discovered that the intermittent cutting out happens at 1/4 of a tank or below.

The EML will be on the dash, but you need to use a fault code reader to read the faults to see exactly what is causing it to appear.

did @[deleted] not have this in the vec with a broken swirl pot in the fuel tank ?

yeah had this problem for the last 4 yrs ,ive learnt to live with it now lol.thing is it seems to be worse when the weather is hot for some reason .now the weather has cooled down its fine and I can get into the red

where is the swirl pot and what d0`s it do, had code reader on and all that came up was egr not present so put cheater and blank on.

its in the tank the fuel pump fits inside it
i think its there to keep the pump supplied with fuel when its sloshing around in the tank

carbon canister on the evaporative emission control or blocked pipe work on this system will cause faults similar to those described. fuel vapour builds up and can not be released which makes it harder for the pump to draw fuel and instead draws vapour. also a build up dirt in the tank can make its way in to the swirl pot and block the filter under the pump. both simple fixes.
take pipe of evap valve next to air filter and blow through with filler cap off tank.
remove fuel pump from tank and clean bottom of tank and filter.
