5M1THY Not a good week for the van. Started off well I been looking for tyres for a while and ended up getting nexen n1000 (apparently there actually mitchilin but it's there old technology so they sell them as a cheaper tyre) So I start taking my wheels off to find this Already been repaired before which I knew I also knew it had a serious camber on the front which has now been sorted but here's the damage My problem was that the cracked wheel was loosing air quickly I don't have a spare and I use it every day so after loads of messing around I managed to get 4 Saab alloys from eBay for £100 with nearly new mitchilin tyres (happy days) so I put 2 on the front and as my rear tyres are good I kept the 18s on until just now.. I'm on my way home and the rear end starts feeling wierd so I check when I get in and find this the n/s rear ^^ The o/s rear ^^ At this point I then realise I only have one of the remaining 2 Saab alloys as the other one is in my workshop which isn't really accessible at one in the morning so I now have 3 Saab alloys and one vauxhall not really a good look.. The cracked wheel is being repaired ill have it back soon and ill sort the tyres out next week but it's still ready for work tomorrow :-)
Sjdickso Pretty unlucky but sounds like you have got a plan to get it sorted, some serious tyre scrub there.
evocarlos sure is bad luck mate that crack will need drilling at the end the welding back up i repaird one of mine not so long ago but its started to crack again 38-40 psi ftw 🙂
5M1THY I wasn't happy but I'm off work most of next week so it will all be sorted then hopefully. The wheel is at Bjv engineering a stones throw from my house they specialise in repairing and refurbing race wheels and for £30 all in they will do it better than I could. Thank the car lord I got them Saab wheels :-) ill put a picture up after work they don't actually look too bad as a temp thing lol
