Dent in boot panel

Some b*stard appears to have put a shallow golf ball size dent in the boot of my vectra just to the right of the badge and above the chrome strip. Is there an effective easy way to get this out or is it a smart repair callout job? I was thinking maybe getting the liner off the inside, heating up the metal with a hair dryer and try to smooth it out with some sort of roller?

That could be possible. i would use maybe a rubber or plastic mallet. don't use a hammer haha. and a dollie block wrapped in a rag on the other side. you can get paint-less dent removal from most body repair shops too

Has it damaged the paint work?

No paint damage, it's that shallow its hard to see, the camera won't pick it up

If it's really small, you might be able to use the shock treatment to pop it back out, where you heat the dent up, and then freeze it straight after (heat gun and can of compressed air)

That looks worth a go, just a bit nervous of using a heat gun on the paint lol

Should be OK as long as you keep the gun moving about to spread the heat out a bit more.

Well gave this method a try and...........it didn't make one bit of difference to the dent. I'm led to believe that it tends to only work on 3" and bigger dents, in the middle of panels.
