evocarlos could also be the pcv valve in the inlet or the valve seals there the only other ways i can think of
PowR_Remap My last engine was burning oil, but it wasn't really noticeable, along with a hearing problem I didn't know until it was too late as I couldn't hear the bottom end ticking! New engine time.
AlexYW Im sticking with the 5w 40, it last longer and the engine sounds so much better with it than the 10w-40!
evocarlos mine is super noisy with the gm 5/30 on;y went to that as the engine now gets up to 90c quicklly 10/40 is all i recommend when people have their chains done 🙂
AlexYW I didn't like how the engine was feeling or sounding with the 10w40, so much smoother with the 5w40, but i can't say i've noticed the temp go up any faster? Now I need to do a full oil change, how many liters does it take in total?

Matt AlexYW said: thought so, cheers Makes it a lot easier. VXR is the same, so just dump the whole bottle in 😉

evocarlos i put a can of wynns engine flush in 2nd form last oil change not really had any trouble from it but then the inside of my engine was quite clean if it was dirtier than you could get bits where you dont want them (oil jet, hydraulic lifters) took me 3 oil and filter changes to get the black out back to golden again every time i check it

I've always used engine flush in all my cars. Only time I had issues was on my old 1.3 Fiesta which started to leak oil after using it (but the engine was fucked, and was crushed not long after I got rid of it)
corsaZ22se ive used flush in dirty engines, but I would recommend changing the oil again after 500miles and get it toasty hot before letting it drain over night. only had one engine that it didn't work on, but after removing the rocker cover to find a jelly mould of oil sludge it was never going to work!
