hi i have a 2005 vectra sri auto yh and have been reading about the hp pump and the symptoms of a failing one and i think it may be faulty on mine.The thing is that mine has got the continental pump so do these fail as well ? I have had the car for 2 years with no problems so the pump must have lasted for that long.
everytime the car revs to over 3k revs the spanner light comes on ,but the car drives fine if you keep the revs low but if you try and rev a bit more the car will lose all power ,which is not very good on a motorway!!!only once has it thrown up a code which was cylinder 1 misfire.but i swapped a couple of spark plugs round and the error hasnt come up again.
question is...does this definately sound like the hp pump?
