Still using oil after new rings!

Hi folks, further to my previous thread about major oil use, I'm back with the same issue! I've replaced the piston rings going from advice from here (and replaced the big ends while I was there) but I'm still going through just as much oil. I've blocked off the little breather gasket and unhooked the cam cover breather hoping that might help but after taking the plugs out, I can see the pistons are soaking with oil! I'd almost be inclined to say piston rings weren't the original issue! Whatever the issue is though I can't work out!

Any suggestions?

Just to remind us did you do the stem guides and valve seals?

The valves haven't been touched on this head, this was a known good one so I wanted to leave it well alone! Haven't done a pressure test yet, will do so soon. Just to confirm, it's used 2l of oil in less than 100 miles!

2 litres of oil to 100 miles ,shit that's not good .ive now done 1200 miles in mine since I done rings ,valve stem seals etc .and its not used any which im glad of .now on the 3rd oil change lol

Does it smoke at all, on cold start up or at high RPM?

Okay, the pressure test results are in.... And we're well within 0.5 bar of the 12.8 Autodata suggests there should be.
One thing on my mind is that the amount of oil in the bores could be throwing the results out.

After having one of the other boys from the unit cast his eyes over it, we decided the head really had to come off to inspect the bores incase something was a bit wrong, here's what the bores look like after 100 miles.....
