Im sure the torque app calculates bhp from the cars weight, the accelerometer and GPS on the phone and speed pulse from the car. Remember everything from the weight of the fuel to how much you weigh affects the torque app. I put an ecotek valve on my old 1.8 pug along with obligatry ( back then) Pipercross open cone air filter. It wasn't until I returned it to stock that I noticed it drove like crap with both ecotek and filter fitted.
As long as your happy with the car bud then that's all that matter's.
