Throttle body

I finally got a chance to spend time in the van so I take my air box and pipe off to have a look at my throttle body and found this

Needless to say it's already off Ive never seen one so grimy.

Took me a while to clean and I got so into it I didn't take another pic till if put it on but it's nice and clean now 🙂

thats a completely normal z22se throttle body with the egr system intact 🙂

:-) It took a good hour with an old tooth brush and paper towel and I used a similar carb cleaner. I keep meaning to get an egr cheater it just doesn't run that ruff

As above that was pretty clean to be honest. Much better in its current state though, I need to clean mine it's been a while since I done it.

Is that a Clio Sport I spot in the back ground?

Ill have to keep an eye on it i dont want it being like that.

Yeah it is a clio sport it's my dads he should be bringing it to trax providing he can finish fitting some bits and get it to k tech for a remap in time.

Nice is it a 172 or 182 we sold ours end of last year I love the raw grunt they offer. Nice if he could make it to the show.

It's a 182 2004 I think but still got less the 70k I raced it in my van and might aswell of been in reverse I couldn't even keep up lol they do have a lovely sound to the f4r engine I'm looking for one for my 1600 megane :-)

I remember when you took me out in the Clio @ RSTuning in Leeds. The whole interior moved when you whacked it into 2nd gear!

It did indeed, I didn't used drive too hard in 1st gear to save the life of running gear but if you gave it the beans at high revs in first it did used shake going into second lol the poly bushes increased this.

Although it was a headache, it once decided to let the gearbox destroy itself causing us to buy a new engine and gearbox!

Shame it's a tin can now

That's a nice clio my dads is black too but it's spent more time in bits than on the road as he likes to do everything himself the only thing he hasn't done himself is remap it but while accelerating you can't move forward it pins you to your seat I love it lol

Yeah I would like to but I'm not sure if I'd do it myself tbh unless I had a spare incase It went wrong. I got my megane ported to its max and that mad a fair bit of difference.

Is it true that vauxhall now do a 2.4 engine and the throttle body apparently fits a 2.2 but it's bigger by a couple of mm

Ah excellent I do love this site lol
There are so many things I want to do to this van that being one of them it's just going to take along time to do it all.
First things first for trax it will be properly polished etc and I've got new front discs n pads and a Courtney panel filter and hopefully a chrome/stainless intake pipe then after trax ill start looking into to bigger mods

i got an egr cheater fitted a few months ago. but now the new tb is on i will take it back off after a few miles to see how it is. unreal the difference in how the car drives tho.
