Coxy Hi there Can anybody tell me if the 2 types of con Rod fitted to z22se engines are interchangeable I have bought an 04 zafira that has been run low on oil and run a big end It needs a crank and a rod I have been informed by an engine specialist that there are two types of Rod fitted to the chain driven Engine I am having trouble locating a zafira rod but not a vectra rod I was wondering if anybody could tell me the difference Thank you in advance for your help Mark

vocky yes there are two types, you should be okay using a mis-matched set. Not ideal if you plan on tracking your car, but for a road car it should be fine.

I'm guessing it's the weight that is different I've got a rod turning up tomorrow and I will weigh and balance it end to end to match the others so it should keep things on an even keel Cheers
