auxiliary v belt shredded again!

Hi, my auxiliary belt has shredded again! It is separating lengthways, first time was soon after I stalled the car doing a u turn so I guess it had jumped off the channels and gone on to the lips and shredded.
It has happened again today shortly after I had done som fast acceleration up to 3rd gear maxing to the revs, I guess it jumped out of the channels again, could this be the tensioner? It seems to have a good resistance on the spring, everything seems aligned.
Advice please before I purchase the tensioner.
P.s there is a slight oil leak at the bottom crank, getting the belt a little wet, this belt has only been on for about 3 months

Oil on the belt can make them brittle. Id sort the leak, clean it all off and replace the belt see if it happens after that.

Hi, the oil leak was present on the original belt, I just decided to replace it when I fixed the alternator, I replaced it with a dayco belt from g s f and it lasted for 6 months, it's just gone again after 3 months same belt, couldn't the tensioner cause it to jump under load?

Not sure mate. I had a leak that went onto the belt and it looked tatty after the leak ,thats all I was thinking.

Come on z22se.. .this is your time to shine:-) has no one had a similar issue when changing the belt..alternator..air con pump.

Fix the oil leak. Will be the crank seal.. Then fit a new belt..
