Jacking points

I'm sure this has been discussed before, just a quick query on good jacking points. Haynes shows a really basic pic of workshop jacking points which seem to be just onboard of the scissor jack points under the car. Is this area really strong enough to support the weight of the car ? Assuming my trolley jack reaches it, I was going to use the beam about a foot inboard running down the car with my jack.

Any ideas which is best?

Good pic here, sixth one down. They seem to be using the beams with their workshop equipment. Is this right?

I used the subframe.

chassis rails or jacking points then axle stand under the sub frame 🙂

What do you use for the rear?

I always used the standard jacking points, even with the trolley jack on the rear. Done that on both the MK4 and MK5 with no issues.
