its at a quarter at the moment but got a habbit of lettin it run low

Fuel Filter will be the easiest thing to check first. Only takes 15 minutes to replace it.

does it only do when its 1/4 tank and below if so sounds like the swirl pot ,quite a common problem
the swirl pot keeps a certain amount of fuel in it so when you go round corners or pull away quick youve always got fuel but if you have a crack in it ,it starves the car of fuel
top up above 1/4 tank and see how it goes
