clean your throttle body and reset ecu by unplugging from battery

air intake temps seems out, throttle position is a bit high and irratic and map sensor data is too high at idle - maybe down to dirty throttle body

Throttle body has been cleaned already mate. That was the 1st thing I did while I was waiting for my egr blank and cheater. I have noticed that although it still "hunts" when I disconnect the air temp sensor (if that's the one on the air intake pipe) it calms it down a little. Could that and/ or the map sensor be on the blink? I would of thought they would bring the eml on though?

I would also like to say that although it isn't sorted yet a big thanks to you both for going to the time and effort to help me :thumbsup:

There are a fair few differences in figures there, which all mean nothing to me lol. I did notice "ignition spark angle" we'll what the hell does that mean?

Would it be a case of replacing sensors one by one and hope or is there a way that it can be narrowed down as I'm guessing just one faulty sensor can send the others out?

Just a little update for you.

I've just cleaned the throttle again but this time I gave the map sensor a clean as well. Ive also replace a vac pipe but still no joy 🙁

I have noticed though that when I put my foot on the accelerator a little it smooths the engine out but once I let it de-accelerate there is a popping sound from the exhaust. I'm guessing that a backfire and is no doubt linked to the rough idle.

Any ideas with this little bit of more info chaps ?

you inlet air temp is way out as mike said maybe the IAT sensor is karputted worth checking the wires or the probe for dirt

also go in to opcom / year / vectra / engine / special /
then do the relearn crank angle and then the o2 one also that helped settle my idle down

I might just buy a new air temp sensor for the sake of about £8 and try it tbh (Does anyone know the part number for it?). I did take it out of the inlet pipe and tried to give it a clean. The wires seem ok but I could be totally wrong knowing me lol.
I've just got this nasty horrible feeling its the timing, but i dont want to be paying all that money to change it when its not, although im planning on doing it next year anyway as it will be about 45 - 50 k miles old then. maybe I'm being paranoid lol
