Crankshaft pulley and automatic gearbox

Hi everybody does anybody know the best technique to remove and refit the crankshaft pulley bolt with automatic gearbox's ?
I'm in the Haynes description which is vague to say the least
I could bump it off (don't like) so I'm wondering about making a tool to block the pulley-any thoughts ?

Although my car is a manual the pulley has three M6 or M8 drilled and tapped holes in it. I screwed in two bolts and used a long bar against the bolts and the floor to hold the pulley while I undid it.

I also did the same thing when it came to putting the new crank bolt in.

i had me dad stand on the brakes in 1st mines manual to
could you not put yours in park and get someone to push on the brake pedal ?

sadly that won't work with an auto box I've found a few clever ideas on the site
I just hope that's the end of the snags and that I can get down to work-I've got a 600mile round trip wednesday!

i found one with an adjustable spanner with a hole in it but not called an adjustable spanner some name that you would never use on that tool lol
it was bolted to the pulley then the open end fitted the the lower subframe just to stop it turning

I saw that 'shifter' I think he called it (Aussie I think) but then over here in France it's a clef anglaise
nice idea don't fancy drilling the hole though !
