Well good news is my Coil pack is fine and it was just the spark plugs however I'm not happy about the state of the plugs I didn't take a picture as I was trying to be quick but the plugs had a he'll of a lot of carbon on them I do mean a lot almost enough for them to ark out on the next node is this caused by over fueling?

when were they last changed? what colour were they?

to be honest they haven't been changed for quite a long time probably going on 20k
in the pic it isn't my plug and they wasn't quite as bad as that but it's similar to how all 4 of mine looked.
I've wire brushed and cleaned them and it seems fine but as soon as the shop is open ill buy new ones

Do you do alot of short trips? I bet theres loads of different reasons they can get like that, I know the intervals are about 50000 miles but do they recommend cleaning them every so many miles?

Mine have only been in about 8/9000 miles but I ant had them out or owt.

Not really my work is a 20 minute drive so I suppose it's quite short.
I reckon I need a coolant temp sensor as I smell fuel sometimes and apparently it could be caused by that and now this which indicates to much fuel it does seem to have a problem. These plugs have not quite done 20k from now on there getting changed every 6k so every other oil change I'm not having shitty plugs again

If u smell fuel id say u will have a over fueling problem. But for the price of plugs id change them every 6000 if your going normal plugs.

Mine are denso iridiums at nearlly 40 quid a set. So they can stay for a few more miles for me. I got a set of egk plugs for the corsa a few weeks back for £10 bargain

The ones I have are ngk something but ill use ngk platinums I think they are ill look on carls thread as the ones he uses are good tbh I'm just going to check them on every 3k service and change them as and when. I'm at my mums tomorrow but if the motor shop on the way is open ill grab some then if not Saturday ill order a new sensor from Vauxhall too and see if it sorts it.

I had platinums before these

They were cheap enough. I think carl normally ran gm twin sparks but not sire what hes running now with all the other upgrades I dont think he will be running standard plugs.

Thats what I jad before the densos.

I got mine for a bargain 7quid ish for iridiums which should be about 38quid. Id use the platinums again.

Carl would you know if this fuel smell and carbon build up on the plugs could be caused by the coolant temperature sensor?

not at the moment no I do have opcom but most of my stuff is in storage at the moment lol
ill have to go over there and try and find it or though it's probably easier to buy a new one lol

Is it possible you have a leaky exhaust which has caused lambada to add extra fuel or
Broken lambda which is causing overfueling

Could also be map sensor
Or egr valve
