I've just paid for a complete dashboard loom so hopefully that will be here in the week.
It will be good to get that done. It's out of a coupe too so I won't have any of the cabs loom anymore 🙂

dash loom has arrived and looks good with no broken plugs or missing bits it hasn't even had a tc button wired in 🙂
ill take a pic later...

before I fit it I want a new ignition barrel and may as well change all the locks so ill buy them plus I need to change my steering wheel...
I've currently got a fully black gsi but it's worn quite badly in places and I can't seem to find a good replacement unless I go with the gsi with the silver bottom.

I was thinking about a mk5 one but I've heard the airbag needs re wiring anyone got any views as I'm really not sure what to do or if putting a mk5 wheel on a mk4 will look a bit weird lol

Just cos your vans not the norm. N I thought all gsi steering wheels had silver

N iv just had a thought. If u want a black gsi steering wheel buy a nice clean silver 1 and speak to isf paint in leister. They do leather dies and pvc paint etc.

I have there number if u need it. I buy pvc paint from there for making our bouncy castles

Yeah I really don't know what to do but I don't like all the wear on mine at all.
I don't think the black wheel is in the gsi I'm. not 100% but I think they are from some 2.2 coupes and cabs I've only seen the silver one in the gsi. I was thinking of a vxr one with piano black bits..

It does work
Iv used pvc paint on leather head rests
They were recaro fishnets out or a mk 2 escort rs2000 in brown, me n my boss retrimmed the seats in black and painted the head rests.
And wheeler dealers did a bmw z1 last week. Changing the colour from yellow to black.

Im not sure but I did watch a video or some pictures (cant remember) the other day where someone put black alcantara on there roof lining, it looked sweeeeeeet.

And with yours its only in the front isnt it? So its only small and would be easy to recover.

that would look the nuts.. I've got an estate headlining in mine so it goes to the back but everything's black apart from that lol
once that's done I'll re carpet the back as hopefully I won't be using as much soon

Oh an estate 1s gonna be harder because of the size. But still do able.

I dont think they did a black headlining from the factory. But like you say it could be died. Or easily recovered.

I've actually found the person who built this van 🙂 🙂 it was built in 2003 11 years ago!
it was the only 2.2 then and still is now..
it seems it was very well looked after no money spared while 3 people had it then it changed hands a couple of times and I honestly think I've saved it from being stripped as it wasn't In a good mechanical state when I first got it..
It has had a respray but standard flame red hence the fading again but here's to the next 11 years 🙂

little update on the van I fitted new boot struts and a new cv boot fresh oil me filter last weekend.
I'm currently arranging to buy a basic sc kit so I should have that within the month maybe next month depending on how long it takes to get it I'm not sure yet..
also while waiting for that I've decided to paint my wheels vauxhall star silver lol
I've done one and I've got the tyre off the second ill start it tomorrow.
What you think?
