Ok so I have a 2.2 direct which some may remember on here a few months back was missfiring going into limp mode and giving me the dreaded p1191 code and turned out to be the hp fuel pump. Since changing that it's been no problems at all.
However a couple of times recently it cut out when I stopped at junctions but always started straight up fine... not today.
On a roundabout at traffic lights on the a12 cuts out and just wouldn't start properly cutting straight out. Finally after about the longest 5 mins of my life got it going again.
15 mins later driving at 70 in the fast lane and it cuts out again. Most scary moment of my life ESP as there was no hard shoulder as I try to get across the slow lane onto a grass verge with the power steering off. Again wouldn't start for about 5 mins when it did so I could get somewhere safer.
This sounds to me like fuel regulator symptoms but I changed that when I did the pump. Could I have got a duff one? It was an ebay job.
Don't know what to do now I'm away on holiday with the family for the weekend no way am I driving home without sorting it.
What makes me mad is when I got car I called vauxhall about recall and was told I was too late and recall had ended. When I argued that I had read horror stories about cars cutting out on motorways and that a recall like that should never expire I was told it was not a safety recall and the car does not cut out but goes into limp mode.
Now I am afraid to say I beg to differ on both those points.
Sorry for going on guys but you know feel better for getting it off my chest.
