Lumby idle

Some advice needed please 🙂

My vectra b (z22se) is running rough on idle and the exhurst also seems to be really but seems to quiet down and run fine when my foot is on the accelerator.

I've cleaned the throttle and done the fpr (think thats what its called lol) mod but still no joy.

Any advice on what to try next would be great.

P.s no eml light or fault codes stored

Do you know when the fuel filter was last replaced?

Tbh no i don't. I only brought it thursday and after looking closer at the history/receipts that came with it, it looks looks like it was about 19000 miles ago. Its just had oil changes in the mean time 🙁
It does have proof of the chains being done about 30000 miles ago, which is a bonus. Will they need changing again in the future?

The chains have a 100,000 miles or 10 years interval on them.

Ill give it a service and see if that clears it. As for the chains i might still change them next year to be on the safe side.

have you blanked off the egr valve ?

No not yet i was thinking of getting it done though. I did try the test on opcom but I'm not sure what to look out for with it.

On my last z22se when i ran the test the engine cut out but on this car it kept running!

possibly stuck open and the ecu has adjusted to compensate for the extra air flow

Well in that case then its going 2 be blanked. Ill order the kit and cheater now 🙂

Well ive ordered the blanking kit and cheater so just got to wait now. Hopefully it will solve the problem 😃

Are they easy to blank off?

2 bolts to remove the EGR valve, and you just plug the cheater in. I'll be posting it out on Tuesday, so should be with you Wednesday.

I'm guessing its where it connects to the engine and not the manifold that i blank off?

Thanks Matt, brillent service. Received today and all fitted 🙂 no eml light on so i must have done it correctly, well for now anyway lol.

Still a little rough on idle and ive now notice the exhurst is popping a bit, so do you have anymore ideas anyone? Ive changed air and fuel filters and also the plugs.
