Well i must of had an unprogrammed airbag ecu?! Which makes me think it was replaced at some point in its past and not programmed.

Heres why: -

Just opened the opcom pdf on how to program airbag ecu and on the first page it has "Important: The Airbag ECU can be coded only once, when it is new. After the first successful configuration, the configuration cannot be altered, or changed!"

ahh right will i dont have any pdfs for opcom only vaux com and i just found the very same txt 🙂

well i've just been playing with mine and put a 3 ohm resistor in the plug on the car and the abs light went out
i tried the resistor at the airbag plug and the same fault popped up so the wire in the seat is muffed

i sure was lucky to have a pre programmed airbag ecu just laying around then lol

well i sure found the problem🙂
a bit of trim had come loose in the seat allowing the cable to get cut on the sharp steel edge

salvaged the plug with some wire on from the spare cabby loom

plug from the passenger side dash airbag is the same all but the color

ready for solder

shrink tube

new lead made 🙂

fitted to the seat

codes cleared with opcom

2.6ohm in the reading now all is good

and finally the dash light is out 🙂
