Will rear speakers compromise my Audio System upgrade?

I'm in the process of upgrading my Audio System. I'll being running an external USB sound card to a JBL GT5-A604 Amp. From the 4 Channel Amp I plan to use a channel each for the JBL GT5-650C front speaker and tweeter front components, and a two channels bridged to a JBL GT5-12 subwoofer.

I also have a brand new set of Kenwood KFC-1051S rear speakers and if I add them I assume (rather obviously) that they'd have to be in parallel with the fronts - per channel - but that's only if I add them! If I did would this significantly compromise the sound quality? Or would the compromise be considered acceptable when considering rear passengers?

I only ask as Audio isn't my forte and I wouldn't know the keywords to start searching appropriately. I have a 5 door hatch btw 🙂.

I wouldn't run them in parallel with the fronts as this would lose fade ability, you really need to be able to fade and balance the sound. You can buy some small 2 channel amps these days if you want to run rears.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be leaving the rear out for the moment anyways, so I could always see what its like and then I'll know whether another amp is needed.

get a set of front speakers with a crossover and then use 2 channels to run the front components KFC-X1730P
this leaves you with the other 2 channels for the rears
and as said a 2 chan 80w amp is cheap (i have one in the bat cave jbl p80.2 not used in years)and can run any extra fronts and rears from phono or from a high level input (speakers)

or after i re-read the above just buy an amp for the sub 🙂

I've just replace the 8 awg that powered my 160w absolute max (more like 10-15w max under normal conditions) PC to 4 awg for 4 ch amp and PC. Another amp would definitely require a 2 or 0 awg..........

I see what it's like without the rears first, else I'll be doing a re-run when the weather is a little warmer!
