I've had some good results with 1k stuff in the past and also some bad ones
But switched to 2k last year when I got a compressor and have to say getting better results.
I used 2k primer - very nice, sets fast and can be layered on quite thick to cover and scratches and sanded flat easily
Used water base colour which is quite funky to use and probably would have preferred to use solvent base but its the only version that gave me a good match having tried to use octobase (octoral?) solvent base it was an awful match, so got some maxmeyer aquabase (I had some maxmeyer spray cans in the past - very nice match) but they don't sell the solvent anymore so had to get the water
2k clear is nice but doesn't set as fast as you may think - still usually have to wait over a week for it to be hard enough to wet sand but it does set really solid over time and im sure it will last longer. Have to put some thinners in it because it's so thick due to the EU solvent limits they have now, not the cheap primer thinners but the expensive pear drop smelling stuff π and cover your arms as the clear gets everywhere for some reason compared to primer and base
I think you can get 2k spray cans now (they have a little thing in the bottom of the can that u push in to release the hardener) which would be quite useful for small jobs
