I have just returned to having a vauxhall as my daily runner. I picked up a Vectra B 2.2CDX Estate as I need a practical and reasonably quick towing car. I knew it needed a few little bits and bobs doing which is how I found the forum.
I have previously had various Cavaliers, Vectras, Astras and an Omega including 2.5 & 3.0l versions so I was happy when I found this Vectra for under £400! It needs an exhaust as the old one is very rattly and I thought it needed a oil pressure switch as it had a slight oil leak.
It turned out that once cleaned the oil leak is coming from the rear oil seal (bugger) and it has got worse after a long run out. Will need to book it in at my mates garage as I don't fancy doing it on the drive in this weather. Might replace the clutch while it's off too.
Other than that the car is spot on and pulls like a train! I will probably mod it a bit too. My previous vatra B was poly bushed and had spax springs and dampers, EBC drilled GSI discs (green pads) and a few other choice bits. I will probably do similar mods to this too.
