Did anybody on here go? It was the first time I have been and the weather ruined it. It took me 3hrs to drive down and spent roughly the same there before I left. And I'm sure the drag strip was closed for the whole day, which made the even pointless. Rant over haha.

Yep, was the last summer I owned the Astra. It actually went the month after for the Vectra.

Yeah matt its still the same. Took us about an hour to move from the pay booths to where we parked. And when we left there was still a queue of people trying to get in! And I couldn't believe the carpark was a field. Especially with the weather I thought there was going to be no chance of me getting out. However the mighty coupe didn't get stuck once. Which probably really pissed the guy in the dodge next to me who was stuck for a good half hour.

Front wheel drive all the way haha

We were fortunate the 2 times I've been, as it was bloody roasting. I've not been when the weather has been shit, but I've seen other years where it basically floods and people get stuck left, right and center.

It was exactly that. For the type of place it is I would have thought there would be proper parking. Most of the cars stuck were lowered. At least the field got ploughed at the same time haha

I was there all weekend, first time I had been there too, I was with a friend.

The weather was appalling, we stayed nearby at "The Worlds End" Hotel, went down for breakfast and it was snowing. If you go to the fast show website they are meant to be letting you have tickets for another event as it was such a wash out.

Just had a look and yes they are. They're giving a selection of 3 events to choose from. Which isn't too bad.

On a different note, the 374 mile round trip my car averaged 35.8mpg. Which I'm quite happy with. I used shell optimax and half a bottle of redex to give everything a good clean as I only drive around town to get to work.

Did you have black edition 100 wheels? the BBS mesh spoke type? I was there in a Dark Blue 20V Turbo Fiat Coupe

Only thing to watch out for, additive like redex will kill nice higher octane of premium fuel.

Does it really? I never knew that. I wouldn't have thought it would effect the octane? How does it do that?

It amazed me as well, until we went to a RR day at a well known tunning company and member filled up and redex the results was shocking, that bad he tried to burn as much fuel off and re fill with fresh fuel.

I don't know how it works or why, maybe Matt can remember what was said but it did affect it on the rollers.
