Vauxhall Vectra sri150 traction control.

Hi to one and all! New member on this forum, seeking advice (to add to what iv already learned!) My mate has just purchased a sri150 Z22se annd the traction control button is not there?( An optional extra that wasn't added?) Is there any guides or someone in the know how to point me in the right direction. I'm mechanically minded and do my own repairs and upkeep but electrical isn't my strong point. Cheers and once again hi to all.

hey welcome
normally it would be a case of installing the missing parts
stalk with buttons
switches for clutch and brake pedal
if it dont work after there installed i believe it need to but turned on

You can do it... you need iirc the switch , and then you need to wire into the cig lighter wiring for the light and to get the earth to send down a new cable which connects into the loom in the n/s kick panel..

Thanks very much peeps! It feels like the traction control hold the car back.. Is that common.?. Ill open a thread on the introduction section so you all can see the progress!

Here's a pic of the veccy, same colour as yourse pottsey?. Wiring a switch in this sat to have the option of traction control..(Yayy!). May be out to play at crail on sundayy fifers on here are heading up? Badvice to free up the dreaded flatspot?

looks like yours is petrol blue ,mine is nocturno blue .looks tidy though(y)

Does it have to the gm TC button? Or can I use a off on switch?

dont know about the vec but on the astra its push on push off momentary switch

Same as the vec , iirc it momentaraly sends an earth down the cable to shut the tc off...

you can put a wire into the TC/abs connector and just earth it against something momentarily and it will disable your TC
the button is a switch that you locate in a convenient position that earths every time you press the button
