Now I only have 3 options left for my misfire on 1 and 4 at 3000 rpm (according to Haynes).
Leak in system (have looked and no visible signs)
Low cylinder compression (no issues before water pump change after mostly successful engine rebuild)
Blocked cat.
Now due to this occurring after the water pump change and the exhaust system has done 140000 miles now I can't help feeling that the cat converter has collapsed or maybe the gasket has failed due to removal.
When I go out in the morning and cold starting I do see loads of fumes out the back whilst driving, white, which clears once warmed.
How can I check the first cat if it is built into the manifold??
Everything else has been changed to clear the fault (fuel pump, FPR, plugs, coil) and failed to clear.
My mate works at longlife so if i popped down to him to remove can it be checked that way?
