Im going to attempt to change my oil stem seals. can anyone tell me what parts i will need to replace when doing this ie new Chain and so on. ????

normally you would need a head set that gives you all the parts to remove the head and then replace the gaskets

if your going hole hog and doing the chains at the same time then matt has the kits in the shop here

I was reading a thread earlier where someone took the seals out and replaced them without removing the head. Do you think this is a good idea

the valve stem seals will need the head removed as the springs for the valves sit on top of the seals
i dont think you have to remove the valve but just the spring to get to the seals
then the new ones can be oil'd and slipped over the valve stem in to place and reinstall the springs a collets

im sure vocky will have some pics in his build log that show the valve stem seals 🙂
