to change or not to change

the car has done 70k odd now and i have purchased a chain kit from here.
the only thing is there proberbly isnt anything wrong with it and after reading some of the horror stories on here (post chain changes) im a bit reluctant to fix what isnt broke.

what do we all think? honest opinions

It is round about time for a chain change i would think its better to do it before the old one snaps on you or the old tensioner fails leaving you with bigger problems and more parts to replace

Tbh I would wait a while if there is nothing wrong with what you have fitted already, I thought they were good for 100K miles

Change it Paul. Better to be safe than sorry. I had mine done by Daz in the mid 30k back in 2006. Its only 20k since.

ten years is the life span of the chain kits, change both now if they are the originals (y)

I'm still available to do chains, but wont be able to do until mid march ish as i'm looking after aly atm as she aint long come out of hosp,

looks like the advice is to change it then.give me a shout when you can do the job then dazza and we will sort a date out mate.it will be interesting to see what the condition of it is like when it comes out.how long does it take to do? would i need an over night stay? where do you live?
