Crucial M500 SSDs

Just had the update e-mail from Crucial, and they are releasing a new line of SSDs early this year:

I bet those 960GB ones aren't going to be cheap!

you could buy 15TB of HD's with that cash and have 3 sets of raid 10 - with same performance

SSD are good but they not much different to that of a raid 0 when you are unrar'ing and video encoding, ideal for an OS disk and even better in a laptop

Tell me about it! I can't see them being that popular to start off with. The 256GB ones have only just come down to a reasonable price if you ask me.

yah looking to move over to a vertex 4

using ocz agility 3 and they run very well in raid 0, getting 1000mb/s

I can't see me needing anything more than the 256GB M4 I've got at the minute in my Ultrabook. It's bloody fast, and I'm using the NAS for all my larger documents / iTunes library

yah i am using n40l microserver on whs2011 with 3tb of raid 1 storage
