You're a legend! Thanks for your swift reply, now I know how I can fix it. I would like to believe that the o-rings I found belonged there as per manufacturer's specs. However, they were black (i.e. standard kit butadiene metric rings), one too many and didn't fit - neither around the fuel pipe, nor to the inside of the rail part. As the engine would have been almost completely disassembled for the repairs, I am now led to believe that the mechs lost or destroyed the original seals and 'fixed' it the Western Australian way. Stunning how it was actually tight for some time. I will give them a few more days to find the part, have a big (and almost certainly pointless) argument about how they will charge me AUD 35 for something they failed to address properly in the first place. Otherwise, I will just put in metric rings that fit.
Thank you very much again - will buy you a beer if you ever happen to visit this part of the planet!
